Service Description

Our adult courses cover basic techniques such as coiling, slab methods, thrown pots and sculpting in clay. Additionally, students practice various decorative techniques, including sgraffito, slip-painting, under-glazing and glazing. Classes concentrate on three-dimensional sculpture and pot making, with an emphasis on the development of technical skill and artistic exploration. For those with experience in ceramics, we can expand and develop your skills with advanced throwing and glazing techniques and experimenting with new materials and techniques: paper clay, porcelain, lidded pots, multiples of the same sizes and more. Whatever your prior level of experience, we’ll tailor the course to meet your needs. Session Classes are offered once a week for six weeks during a session. They are taught to the level of each student, providing group and individual instruction. Fee includes one 25lb bag of clay, the use of studio tools, supplies, glazes and firings. You will need to purchase a basic pottery tool kit from us or from amazon. If you are planning to purchase all 5 sessions at once, please call in advance for a discount!! Runs as a 6 week sessions.
