Service Description

Our adult courses cover basic techniques such as coiling, slab methods, thrown pots and sculpting in clay. Additionally, students practice various decorative techniques, including sgraffito, slip-painting, under-glazing and glazing. Classes concentrate on three-dimensional sculpture and pot making, with an emphasis on the development of technical skill and artistic exploration. For those with experience in ceramics, we can expand and develop your skills with advanced throwing and glazing techniques and experimenting with new materials and techniques: paper clay, porcelain, lidded pots, multiples of the same sizes and more. Whatever your prior level of experience, we’ll tailor the course to meet your needs. Session Classes are offered once a week for six weeks during a session. They are taught to the level of each student, providing group and individual instruction. Fee includes one 25lb bag of clay, the use of studio equipment, most supplies, glazes and firings. You will have unlimited open studio time to practice and create. You will need to purchase a basic pottery tool kit either online or with us!
