Course Description:
Our adult courses cover basic techniques such as coiling, slab methods, thrown pots, and sculpting in clay. Additionally, students practice various decorative techniques, including sgraffito, slip-painting, under-glazing, and glazing. Classes concentrate on three-dimensional sculpture and pot making, with an emphasis on the development of technical skill and artistic exploration. For those with experience in ceramics, we can expand and develop your skills with advanced throwing and glazing techniques and experimenting with new materials and techniques: paper clay, porcelain, lidded pots, multiples of the same sizes and more. Whatever your prior level of experience, we’ll tailor the course to meet your needs. Session Classes are offered once a week for six weeks during a session. They are taught to the level of each student, providing group and individual instruction.
Your class includes everything you need to get started with pottery!
- Clay: New students receive a 12.5 lb bag of clay. If you take a second session, you’ll receive a 25 lb bag of clay.
- Studio Access: Use of our pottery wheels and studio equipment during class.
- Supplies: Most basic pottery supplies are provided.
- Glazes & Firings: Glazes and firing of your finished pieces are included.
What you’ll need: A basic pottery tool kit is required and can be purchased online or from us at the studio.

6-Week Membership Description:
The 6-week membership is required before purchasing a class and gives you full access to the studio during with unlimited open studio hours during business hours.
We have 15 pottery wheels in the Adult Studio and 10 additional wheels in the Members Studio, for a total of 25 wheels. If a class is taking place in the Adult Studio, you can use the Members Studio, which has 10 pottery wheels available.
This means you’ll always have access to a pottery wheel during open studio hours, even when a class is happening in the Adult Studio.
