Intro to Ceramics Handbuild WorkshopProject Theme: “Breakfast for Two”
Saturday, February 4th, 2023 1:30-6:00pm INSTRUCTOR: Carrie Carriveau Workshop Description An introduction to clay as a medium with an emphasis on basic hand building techniques, specifically slab construction. Three-dimensional concepts in clay and decorative applications using various tools and textures will be explored and implemented. Project Goals: Artists will complete a seven (7) piece ceramic brunch set containing the following items: Two (2) Coffee/Tea Mugs: 8-10oz mugs with handles, constructed from clay slabs. These pieces will display personalized and unique textures and, most importantly, contain a liquid. (Approx. 1.5 hours) Two (2) Small Pastry Plates: Approximately six to seven inches (6” to 7” in size). (Approx. 30 mins) Two (2) Fruit/Oatmeal Bowls: Approximately four and a half to five inches (4 1/2” to 5” in size). (Approx. 30 mins) One (1) Small Bud Vase: Size not to exceed five inches (5”) in height. (Approx. 30 minutes) |
