Youngest Artists: Ready, Set, Go! - Ages 4-6
Children learn the basics of the Open Arts Drawing Method using a variety of media, including markers, pastels, pencils, tempra & collage. Classes are geared towards developing dexterity, hand-eye coordination, sequencing, and problem solving. Warm-up exercises, free creative periods and puppets make for a fun & memorable learning experience!

Drawing I - Ages 6 to 8
The Open Arts Drawing Method is a simple technique for drawing that gives students the ability to easily recognize the curves, angles and shapes in everything they see. Once students understand these concepts, they are able to recreate what they see into drawing on paper. Our drawing method is taught to the appropriate age and ability level of each class. Subject matter and mediums will vary in order to allow for progressive learning experiences. Students progress from simple contour images to three-dimensional subjects.

Drawing II - Ages 9 to 14
This class is for students who are interested in becoming familiar with the Open Arts Drawing Method and/or gain more experience in drawing and painting. They are ready to develop new skills and techniques. Open Arts II students learn how to create perspective in drawing and are give the freedom and encouragement to develop an individual style. Subjects include still life, plants and animals, architectural, mechanical and human forms. Media utilized include pencils, markers, graphite, charcoal, sgraffito, paints, printwork, chalk and oil pastels.

Drawing III - Ages 10+ and by instructor permission
This class is for students who are familiar with the Open Arts Drawing Method and/or have more experience. They are ready to develop new skills and techniques. Open Arts III students learn how to create perspective in drawing and are give the freedom and encouragement to develop an individual style. Subjects include still life, plants and animals, architectural, mechanical and human forms. Media utilized include pencils, markers, graphite, charcoal, sgraffito, paints, printwork, chalk and oil pastels.

Anime/Manga - Ages 9 to 14
Draw and paint popular anime and manga characters from TV and comics. Learn about the different styles and techniques for creating heroes and villains, up close and in motion. You’ll learn about tone & shading to create depth/dimension and motion lines/gestures to create the illusion of movement; plus tools to develop your own characters.
