Pottery

Open Arts Studio’s Clay program teaches many techniques and gives students the opportunity to work with clay in a variety of ways. The slab roller, extruder, molds, hand tools, and the pottery wheel are among the tools students will become familiar with as they build their clay creations! All clay classes include experience with handbuilding as well as working on the wheel. Handbuilding may also be applied to wheel-thrown pottery or for making animals, faces, cars, masks, ornaments, and whatever else you can dream up! Functional objects such as bowls, cups, and plates are all oven and dishwasher-safe.

Open Throw: Calling all adult students and artists! Enjoy developing pottery and clay techniques on your own! Work on your own projects! There will be a clay teacher on-site to answer questions and provide general assistance in the clay studio. You must have basic pottery and clay skills to participate in Open Throw. You may either bring your own set of clay tools or buy a set for $20. Twenty-five pound bags of clay are available to purchase for $8. Finally, you are required to agree to studio rules and policies with your signature. Please call Open Arts Studio to check on availability of the space.
